The movable base is operated to move in different directions. The seat body for supporting the user is disposed over the movable base and is operated to turn. The sensor disposed on the seat body is configured to sense a facing direction of the seat body and generate a direction signal. The facing direction represents the direction in which the user supported by the seat body faces. The controller, electrically coupled to the sensor and the movable base, receives the direction signal and controls the movable base to move in the facing direction based on the direction signal. The user may drive the electric wheelchair to turn in the facing direction by turning the seat body. As the sensor detects the turning direction of the seat body, the controller controls the movable base to move in the facing direction. Thereby, the electric wheelchair is capable to make a turn with a radius of gyration equal to zero.
