    Abstract: 經由測試七種金屬氧化物觸媒催化焚
    化芳香烴化合物,吾人發現奈米級CeO2
    的催化作用是7種金屬中活性最好的。利用eO2觸媒,完全氧化甲苯溫度需達到240
    。在焚化對-二甲苯時,有相似的結果,但是苯的焚化則較困難。在製備CeO2觸媒上,有四個不同的方法,其中以過氧化氫還原法製備的觸媒活性最好,所以後續研究均選擇該觸媒。在VOCs焚化反應中,欲將甲苯100%氧化,則在高的質量空間速率(weight hourly space velocity, WHSV)及高的甲苯濃度時,反應溫度亦需較高。CeO2觸媒耐用性頗佳,但有SO2存在時,會造成不可逆之活性衰減。
    We tested the efficacy of a set of seven
    metal oxide catalysts in the catalytic
    incineration of aromatic hydrocarbons and
    found nano-size CeO2 to be the most active
    of the seven. Using CeO2, complete
    oxidation of toluene was achieved at 240℃.
    There was a similar outcome in the
    incineration of p-xylene, whereas benzene
    was more refractory. In preparation of the
    CeO2 catalyst, four different methods were
    evaluated and a redox reaction in hydrogen
    peroxide was found to produce the most
    active catalyst. Hence the most active CeO2
    catalyst was used for the following tests. In
    the reaction, a higher reaction temperature
    was necessary for 100% conversion of
    toluene at higher values of weight hourly
    space velocity (WHSV) and higher toluene
    concentrations. The stability of CeO2 was
    excellent, although the presence of SO2
    caused an irrecoverable decline in activity.
