Influencing factors of diabetes telecare intervention are explored in self-care behavior of patients with type 2 diabetes: A Case Study of a Medical Center in Central Taiwan
The Department of Statistics of the Ministry of Health and Welfare released in 107 that diabetes is one of the top ten causes of death among Taiwan people. According to the statistics of cause of death, the number of diabetes deaths has reached 9,374, but it has been gradually decreasing year by year. Diabetes self-management needs to include diet, water intake, drug compliance, exercise, and self-monitoring of blood glucose. These self-management strategies require the help of medical teams, family members, and their own efforts to achieve effective blood glucose control. Some studies have found that remote care models with immediate response can effectively improve blood sugar control in diabetic patients. Therefore, I would like to explore the effects of the developing diabetes remote care model and the traditional diabetes general care model on the self-management behavior and blood sugar control of diabetic patients? The results of the study showed that patients who participated in remote care had an average of 96.58 points for their self-care behaviors for diabetes, and the average score of patients in general care was 72.8 points, indicating that the self-care behaviors of patients who joined remote care were higher; The average blood sugar score is 7.35, and the general care is 8.21, indicating that the blood sugar control effect with remote care is better. Comparing the two results, the behavior of joining remote care and blood sugar control is better. Therefore, this study believes that the remote care model is helpful for diabetic patients.
