The invention relates a use of aCleome rutidospermaextract for manufacturing compositions for anti-neuroinflammation by applying an effective does of aCleome rutidospermaextract to a subject in need for inhibiting expression of inflammation-related genes and production of nitric oxide (NO), and for stimulating expression of heme oxygenase 1 (HO-1), wherein theCleome rutidospermaextract is manufactured by 95% ethanol extraction. Accordingly, theCleome rutidospermaextract can be utilized in manufacturing health food and pharmaceutical composition for anti-neuroinflammation, so as to slow down or reduce neural inflammation.
