摘要: Experiments were carried out to evaluate the efficiency of arsenic removal from contaminated groundwater using coagulation-sand filtration and coagulation-microfiltration system. A residual turbidity of below 0.5 NTU (Nephelometric turbidity units) was achieved for both coagulation-sand filtration and coagulation-microfiltration system. This study also investigated arsenic removal from groundwater using a flocculation/membrane reactor. In the absence of oxidation, a maximum arsenic removal rate of 91% was obtained. With oxidation, the removal rate was observed to increase up to 96% with residual arsenic concentration of less than 0.01 mg/l. Results show that flocculation/membrane reactor could be utilised as an effective method in arsenic removal from groundwater in future field applications.
