    Title: 以功能性觀點為出發點之手部工作空間與手弓的型態學評估
    Morphological Assessment of Hand Working Space and Arches Based on Functional Perspectives

    Abstract: 手部運動於日常工作上極為重要,然而在手部因構造及關節動作上之複雜,仍未有合適之動態功能性關節活動範圍及手弓之模型建立,因此常造成動作障礙評估或保險理賠上之困擾。本計畫利用運動分析系統,將以手部功能性之觀點,建立一系列的手部合作等複雜功能相關的評估指標。其包含功能性工作區域的量測與其相關的正常手模型之建立,型態學上的手弓參數選取與訓練,手部抓取空間之估計,動態手部功能性區域之估計與綜合性之手部合作功能指標。第一年計畫將以量測其功能性工作範圍 (Functional Workspace),建立其全手標記點之設置。且利用 PCA 與點估計的方法(如 Gaussian 等)將其對應之隱藏函數取出,其目的在建立區域與其手部運動 kinematics 參數之對應模型,並以此發展量化之評估指標。第二年將進一步針對手部形態變化與其手部運動之關聯做討論,利用三條主要手弓(hand arches)型態記錄其手部抓取運動時之變化,並試著利用 super-ellipse fitting 方法找出其代表之幾何參數運動評估指標,並將針對正常手進行資料收集後, 建立其參數模型。最後,綜合上述不同功能性觀點,進行整合性指標之建立。此量化指標將可預期作為更具參考性的手部復健評估工具。
    Hand manipulation is important for dairy living activities. However, in clinical applications, it is still lack of assessing a complex hand functions. This project proposed to develop a series of assessment indexes for those compound hand function, including thumb-fingers cooperation(functional workspaces) and grasping (hand arches, grasping aperture and related mathematical models). During the first year, a mathematical model which aims at mapping the functional workspace to the kinematic parameters space could be built. In addition, a practical index which presents the matching degree of normal-hand functional workspace has been defined also. In which, a normal-hand functional workspace could be modeled based on PCA analysis with experimental data. During the second year, a new morphology-based method is developed, which is based on the selected hand arches, to assess specified hand functions such as different levels of grasping. Regarding the method, we firstly adopt location calibrations for inner and outer markers of hand, and next figure out shape parameters of those arches by using super-ellipse fitting algorithm. Finally, a time-varying geometric model for arch motion has been built. According to the models, we define several evaluation indexes for hand cooperating functions (the grasping, especially). Experiments have been assigned to test twenty to twenty-five adults, and we expect to develop a practical assessment model of normal-hand functions. In clinics, the quantitative assessments of complex hand function are important and of necessity. The functional-perspective models for hand in this project, including functional workspace and hand arches, are expected the powerful tool for hand assessments.
