The DEAE-Sephadex was used in this experiment to absorb and concen-trate the permitted coal-tar dyes in foods on the top of the column. Separation of the coacentrated coal-tar dyes was performed by elution with 40% EtOH solution coataining 3% NH4CI at the begining and gradual increasing of the NH4CI concentration to 15% as elution volume reached 1OOml. Seperated coal-tar dyes were offered for qualitative and quatitative analyses according to their color, elution volume, absorption spectra and absorbance at λmax
