Sulfadimethoxine (S.D.) is known as a popular sulfa drug for treatment of coccidia in poultry. In this report the resistant strain against S.D. was separated and confirmed as E. tenella by etiological and morphological observation.
Even at 1,200 ppm level, the mortality of 9 days old artificial infected chicks was about 25%. The addition of 0.48% terephthalic acid was not effective for treatment at the same dose level.
