摘要: An intelligence testing investigation was conducted to investigate the effect of a hoop arrangement on the degradation behavior of reinforced concrete columns. The test program included 16 full-scale tests of reinforced concrete columns with different hoop arrangements. The columns were subjected to constant axial compression, and incrementally increasing lateral force reversals or monotonies. The parameters of the specimens included the following: concrete compressive stress fc', hoop space, hoop type, axial loading and length of the columns. Test results indicate that the ultimate strength of columns with closed type hoops was not significantly different from that with conventional hoops. However the strength increased about 10% when the concrete compressive stress fc' was less than 20.58 mpa. The method presented in the paper is better than that used in previous reports. This model can be used to predict structural deterioration and prevent damage in building design.
