摘要:	Onitin was isolated from Onychium siliculosum Studies on acute toxicity and records of behavioural patterns carried out in mice, showed no adverse effects in the dosageds tested. Moreover, effects of onitin were tested on the response to electrical stimulation in guinea-pig ileum and on the propulsion of charcoal meal in mice. This compound inhibited profoundly on smooth muscles in guinea-pig and mice, respectively.It is conceivable that Onychium siliculosum is a popular folk medicine.
