Rosin soap can be used as an emulsifier in the styrene-butadiene copolymerization. In this experiment, a series of tests on the mechanical characteristics of both copolymer and SBR product, prepared by using R-94 and D-22 rosin respectively, were undertaken to evaluate the usage of rosin soap as emulsifier in SBR production.
From the result of this experiment, we found the R-94 more excellent than D-22 in the bound styrene and conversion, but in the tensile strength and elongation, the D-22 is more excellent.
