The object of this investigation is to assess hand-um vibration levels of motorcycle handle bars in riding, in order to establish the concept about motorcycle vibration hazard, and contribute a reference for the judgement of overaging motorcycle to be eliminated for vehicular inspecting government agency. We selected 69 motorcycles manufactured in our country accordin8 to their exhaust quantities and riding status, and 4 times riding tests on three different highways at the speed of 40 and 60 km/hr. We got vibration level of three directions of the left handle bar by usin8 vibration analysis. The values checked by computer data analysis, were compared to the exposure limit of ISO suggestions. From ous research, we get certain results that proceeding motorcycle have resonant frequency around 100 and 200 Hz, the maximal acceleration of large-sized new motorcycle with sectionally variable shifts is 100-110 dB appeared in 80-160 Hz central frequency, the same type old motorcycle is 134 dB. The vibration on both types is higher than the exposure limit in ISO suggestions, received and taken by the hand-arm system. Therefore, some workers such as mailmen, deliverymen etc. have long term periodic exposure to the vibration as a result of that they are easy to get the vibration syndrome. In addition to the above statement, we compare the relation between velocity and vibration, also riding status and vibration of motorcycles at the same time.
