A bacterial protease was supplemented to a basal diet and fed to the striped bass larvae (14 days old) for the evaluation of growth and survival. Protease lost its activities in the diet during the first 4 days feeding. The inactivity of this enzyme in the diet may cause the no significant difference for the growth and survival between protease supplemented diet and basal diet in the 28-day feeding trial. However, survival of the striped bass larvae were satisfactory for using this formulated composition (basal diet 35.3%, protease supplemented diet 30.6% and a commercial diet 37.3%). Live Artemia nauplii diet fed to the larvae gave the best performance eitber on growth(specific growth rate=12.69) or survival (74.7%). 此實驗在於以一種蛋白酵素添加至基本餌料,然後餵食幼條紋鱸(14天大)以評估其生長與存活。結果在最初4天餵食後,餌料中之蛋白酵素失去活性,這種酵素在餌料之去活化,可能導致幼條紋鱸在28天由基本餌料與蛋白酵素添加餌料之餵食試驗間無顯著生長與存活差異。然而使用此配方組成對於幼條紋鱸之存活(基本餌料35.3%,蛋白酵素添加餌料30.6%和一種商業餌料37.3%)是滿意的,而活豐年蝦餌料餵食幼條紋鱸在生長(生長比率=12.69)與存活率(74.7%)皆有最佳之表現。
