Abstract:	本文旨在研究柏拉圖哲王與孔子聖王之異同。觀之相同處，中西文化必有會通整合之必然性；相異處，亦可擷長補短，吸納西方文明精粹，以增益中華文化之可能性。其目的無不期待開創儒家思想之現代性，藉此，以印證儒家內涵實具有融合力及適應力，符合時代潮流，亦有助於現代人精神文明之提昇，以及穩定社會秩序之功能。內文共分四部分---第一部份導論，主要說明研究動機與目的；第二部分比較柏拉圖哲王與孔子聖王之會通處；第三部份闡述柏拉圖哲王與孔子聖王之互異處；第四部分總結孔子與柏拉圖之立意及理想，並提出中西文化整合之必要性。
