    Abstract: 活性碳(Activated carbon)為一種多孔性的含碳物質,具有相當特殊之孔隙結構,基於其不同直徑之孔洞分佈與其微孔構造,通常活性碳的比表面積可達500~1500 m2/g,基於其高比表面積之特性,故適於吸附有機污染物。製做活性碳的原料,可選取高碳、低無機物含量的物質,如:動、植物及礦物等含碳量較高的物質,經過適當的處理程序可研製成活性碳,選擇碳質材料,需考慮原料的貯存壽命長短、含碳量多寡、無機物含量、硬度、體積與成本、孔隙度及取得之難易程度等因素,方能得到高品質的活性碳。以低成本椰殼製備活性碳可由製備條件製備不同直徑之孔洞分佈與其微孔構造,並利用活性碳的吸附特性,可將活性碳應用於含酚廢水控制技術上,以應用於環境中有機污染物之吸附技術上
