The use of shampoo products play an important role in maintaining personal hygienes due to the enviromental pollution by chemicals. Shampoo cosmetics are many types in commmercially available such as gel, power, liquid…etc. They must be effective and very safe with respective to hair and eye during washing. Such an elegant shampoo is needed for people, however, little attention has been given to their efficacy and safety in patents and reports.
The objectives of the present study were to investigate the influence of different compositions on physicochemical properties to establish a method for determinating their efficacy. To formulate shampoo products, the mixture of Sodium Laureth Sulfate with Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate at varying ratio was selected as surfactants and four different thickeners were incorporated individually. As a result, these formulated shampoo products were characterized by physicochemical method and the skin patch test was performed. In addition, their cleansing ability was evaluated using home-made determining method. The results showed that both F5 and F17 were the desired shampoo products with good storage stability at 45℃ for 84 days(C%=100%) and their cleansing ability is up to 80% and 38% at 45℃ accelerated test, respectively. In skin patch test, they don’t show the two products allergic reaction. In addition, the two elegant shampoo were both esthetic appearance. one (F5) is composed of Sodium Laureth Sulfate 11.2%、Ammoniun Lauryl Sulfate 2.8%、Polyquaternium-7 0.5%、PEG 6000DS 1%、NaCl 0.25%、Cocamide MEA 1%、Glycerin 2%、1,3 B.G 3%、Germall-115 0.5%、D.W 77.75%, and the other(F17) is composed of Sodium Laureth Sulfate 11.2%、Ammoniun Lauryl Sulfate 2.8%、Polyquaternium-7 0.5%、Xanthan gum 0.8%、Glycerin 2%、1,3B.G 3%、Germall-115 0.5%、D.W 79.2%。
